CHAPTER 9 PART 2 - SING THE SONG

Hello guys!! Comeback with me on the blog🙋

How was your day? I hope you are always in good health. Here I want to explain the material about “SING THE SONG (2)”

•> LINGUISTIC CHARACTERISTICS :

1.) Imagery; describes about feelings and emotions. A song usually tries to describe how the writer feels.

2.) Rhythm; The rhythm here is used to create the mood. For example, if we are sad and listen to a song with a slow rhythm, we will get carried away with the song.

•> FIGURE OF SPEECH :

1.) Metaphor; At first glance, the two things being compared are unrelated, but actually there are similarities between the two things. Example “Time is a thief” or “Her haisr was silk”

2.) Simile; A thing is described with something similar by using the word 'like' or 'as'. Example “My love is like a red rose”.

3.) Hyperbole; A thing is described in excess, sometimes tickling because it is too much. Example “That math homework took me 8 million years to finish”.

4.) Personification; Objects (non-humans) have human-like abilities. Example “The snowflakes danced in the wind”.

5.) Allititration; the repetition of the same beginning sound in a series of words. Example “Peter Parker pick a pack of pants punctually”

> EXAMPLE :

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

“Caugh in a landslide

no escape from reality.”

This line is a metaphor for feeling stuck by what is going on in your life and not being able to escape. It also contains allusions to the Bible and a 17th-century comedy.
