CHAPTER 5 PART 2 - PASSIVE VOICE

How was your day? I hope you are always in good health. Here I want to explain the material about “PASSIVE VOICE (2) ”


After in part 1 I have explained the meaning, functions, and formulas of the PASSIVE VOICE.  in part 2 I will give an example of the text. 
1. Passive Voice in Report Text : 

The Amazing Animal

Elephants are the largest land animal on earth. They have the largest brains of anymammal.

Elephants talk to each other. Researchers have discovered more than 50 different types of calls that they use to communicate with each other. Their trunks are strong enough to pick up trees but sensitive enough to a flower. They use sticks as tools to sweep paths, to scratch themselves, to swat flies, and to draw in the dirt.

Elephants are good swimmers and use their trunks like snorkels  They live together in family groups. They help each other when in trouble. They join together to care for and rescue their young.

2. Passive Voice in Explanation Text :

How Earthquakes Happen

Earthquake is one of natural disaster that destroying a certain area the most. It recently happens in Tasikmalaya, West Java Province. Earthquakes are caused by suddenly breaks of underground rock along a fault. This sudden release a huge amount of seismic waves Energy. The ground will be shaken when it happen. When two plates or two blocks of rock are rubbing against each other, they will be sticked together. But, they don’t slide smoothly.

The rocks are not moving but still pushing against each other. After several times, the rocks will be broken due to all the pressure that’s built up. When those rocks break, the earthquakes happen. This is horrible and we have to maintain our Environment, so there will be no earthquakes happen.
